Muster roll

What's actually open

Most early projects put a fake counter on this page. This one tells you the truth instead: one boat being scoped, nothing crewed, nothing sailing. When that changes, it changes here first.

Boat 01

The pilot

One vessel, three or four people, one season — run deliberately as the test case. Every problem it finds gets fixed before the platform is built around it.

The hull
Not yet secured. Steel is favoured for being hard to sink and easy to repair badly in the right hands.
Scoping
Hunting
Master
Ticket or serious sea time. Takes the boat, sets what she's for, holds the final call at sea.
1 berth
Open
Engineer or fabricator
Diesels and systems, or welding and metalwork. On a steel hull, ideally both in one person.
1 – 2 berths
Open
Medic
Wilderness first responder or above. Not optional once you're more than a day from help.
1 berth
Open
Earner
Remote income that travels. Steadies the books while the boat learns to pay for herself.
1 berth
Open
The articles
Buy-in, stake, decision rights, exit terms. Drafted once there's a hull and a crew to write them for.

Everything else

What doesn't exist yet

Written down so nobody arrives expecting otherwise.

Not built The platform

No accounts, no profiles, no matching, no shortlists. The sign-on form is a form, not a product. What gets built first depends on which problems the pilot boat actually hits.

Not charging Subscriptions

The $4 and $30 figures are opening numbers for something that doesn't run yet. No card details are collected anywhere on this site.

Not written The legal templates

The articles, the entity structure, the buy-out terms. These need a lawyer in a real jurisdiction, and that happens when there's a real boat to attach them to.

Not running Charters and retreats

Nothing is bookable. Plundr Retreats is a plan for what a crewed boat sells once she's earning, not an offering you can buy today.

What moves next

The order things happen in

01

Fill the roll

Enough people signed on that the trades are covered and the pilot crew is a real choice rather than whoever turned up.

Happening now
02

Find the hull

A specific boat, surveyed, with a number attached and a purpose that matches the crew who signed on.

Next
03

Draft the articles

Real terms, checked by a real lawyer, for that specific vessel and that specific group of people.

After the hull
04

Sail her a season

Live aboard, work her, and find out which parts of this were naive. That's what the platform gets built from.

The real test

Why this page stays honest

An inflated board would get more sign-ups and the wrong ones. The people worth having aboard are exactly the people who check whether the story holds up — so the board says what's true, and will keep saying it when the numbers are less flattering than we'd like.
